Face it. The military will never be paid what it is worth, not even when an enemy is among us. But, at least they deserve a living wage, and a wage on which their families can live. Inasmuch as reassignments preclude service members from investing in homes as civilians do, they also deserve decent housing. Safe housing. Good schools for their children. No ivy covered prep schools. Just safe schools with competent teachers. Honestly, I don't think anyone is asking more than that. Sadly, they haven't been getting any of it.

The ONLY problem I see with that is the civilain world they have to live in. My ex and I lived in a nice house in Marina CA - $175/month. We were reassigned to So Korea - 18 mos later we were back at Ft Ord - the 7th Inf Div had been reassigned to Ord - that same house, because of demand, was now over $500 - absolutely no changes! When the wages goe up, the prices go up, and that worries me.

Very good news, but lots of defense bills weren't signed on time well before PO.
