This is a rather long read part of a series examining the oversight role of the DoD in toxic sites.
It reminds me of the fight to prove the effects of Agent Orange and the other chemicals used in Vietnam. One such site I am familiar with is the former Otis AFB, where I was stationed from Sept 1965 - Dec. 1966.
There is one citation included that I never heard about while in Vietnam and wonder if anyone else had heard of such a thing: " American troops in Vietnam had experienced epileptic fits when they ate C-4 explosives containing RDX as a sort of gruesome initiation rite". The lack of involvement of the EPA today cannot be blamed on the present administration, as much as people would like to, rather it goes back to previous administrations in the late 1990s and up through 2014.
