this is No Change ad has Been in effect for at least 40 Years... and Many cases, if the Gaining organization wants the vet Bad enough they can submit an "Exception to Policy" Up to 90 days prior to The Service Members ETS/Retirement and the Waiting Tine can be waved to 60 between the Discharge and hiring... or it Used to be that way in the 70', 80's and 90's... ...

It was not in effect from 2001 until December. How can an administration sign a bill saying they want to help transitioning Vets, then put in a huge barrier and red tape?

the original law went back to the 1960s ... and along with many other laws and procedures on the Books it needs to be re-looked repealed and or replaced... But the congress critters are too busy trying to figure a way to make more Money for them selves...

Everyone loses their mind about a potential for General Mattis to not be confirmed as SecDef for 3 years instead of 7 since leaving active duty.... but it's okay to make retirees wait 6 months to enter civil service? I guess rank really does have its privileges.

Sometimes many has it all ready to go and wear a uniform on Friday and civilian clothes on Monday.
