I don’t know. This nation expects its servicemen and servicewomen to put their lives in harms way at a moments notice. After they get out, those that now have disabilities seem to be forgotten about and have to fight for claims or rely on charity organizations. To the 98% that don’t serve, well, they have no idea what it’s like to serve.

MSgt. I have been retired for 41 years and I still wonder what is going on. I was in the time frame that was to get free medical care for life and you know where that went. A COL Day even sued and it was turned down. But ever seen a poor Congressman? I would bet my pay hasn’t stayed up with what it suppose to be but I am scared to look it up.

For me I am not here to cheer lead for any particular party. I just would like to see the politicians do what's right for the country to include us Veterans. I am smart enough to know that both party's have faults so I have no loyalty to either. Let's hope they quit the infighting and get on with running a functional government.

This issue was all hashed over back when it was first considered and approved. It is still complicated and hopefully, everyone in the mentioned window will look at their own situation and make the best decision for them. Many of us who didn't stay the course, would like to have seen the new system in place when we decided to cash it in. As it was we left with only the savings we had accumulated on our own while on active duty. For many people saving out of pocket is/was very difficult if not impossible to do.
