This has always been a problem for military spouses SP5 Mark Kuzinski. with the frequent PCS moves etc, it is almost impossible to get established in a business.

Yep....even with my husband (and he's a CDL driver) he had to go with some sales company when I was stationed in Pensacola. It didn't last long and he was without a job for about a good year before anything good coming his way.

I agree LTC (Join to see) and PO1 (Join to see) and there has to be a better way to help the families.

The above is exactly why I have long felt that the spouse should be entitled to a portion of the service member's retirment for their years of lost income. It is also makes the fact that you have to pay for a survivor benefit to be a financial smack in the face to their sacrifice. Things like this are the real war on women, as the sacrifice of the spouse is discounted and considered the cost of doing business.

Col Rebecca Lorraine - Absolutely ma'-am. All spouses, but was just trying to drive a point in the way I phrased it.

I know and appreciate the thought. It's an important issue either way! My mom never worked, my dad was foreign service and they were a team. She never accumulated much in social security and as they age his term life insurance is decreasing. It's a reality that couples need to think about!

I remember the saying. If the Army meant for you to haea a wife. They would have issued you one! But fortunately, things have changed!

SP5 Mark Kuzinski - In reality, the Military is a basically a single mans game. Due to deployments, familiy separations, spouse employment issues and transitions and rigors of military life!
