Military Times wanted to make Veterans Day special this year – so we’ve expanded it to a month-long celebration of service.
Throughout November, we’ll be posting exclusive stories, videos and commentaries dedicated to all U.S. veterans (#vetsmonth)
Veterans Month coverage will include:
•Finish the Wall. We have partnered with the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund to complete their goal of finding photographs of every single U.S. service member whose name appears on The Wall. We’ve got fewer than 10,000 more to find. Help us #FinishtheWall.
•Best for Vets: Colleges. Our annual list of top colleges for veterans, including expert analysis on two-year, four-year and online programs.
•Military discounts. Free haircuts, free food and more. We’ll update our list all month to save vets some money.
•Guest editorials. Leaders and military supporters share their thoughts on Veterans Month and the legacy of service.
•Exclusive videos. Previews for new films and documentaries, tips for transitioning vets and more.

That is unsurprising news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that Military Times declares November ‘Veterans Month’ since Veterans day occurs this month.
Yesterday I received a email from the DoD News Service that November is National American Indian Heritage Month
Today I received a email from the DoD News Service that President Barack Obama declared that November as Military Family Month, "President Barack Obama noted that “our extraordinary military families -- our heroes on the home front -- stand alongside our patriots in uniform, and in their example we see the very best of our country's spirit."
