Excellent article. As a manager in public and private business I always looked for related experience and quantifiable accomplishments. If a person listed only their job responsibilities in a resume it automatically made me wonder if they actually succeeded in the job. Also, the HR systems scanned resumes for key words in the job description before I ever saw a resume. I generally ignored cover letters, but that's a personal preference.
