This is a great share. This just might be a great program. If it saves one veteran, it will be worth the cost. Lt Col Charlie Brown

This sounds like a great program for those who are willing to share their experiences. I say "willing to share" because a long time ago I used to keep to myself a lot, especially upon returning from a deployment. I just wanted to get the SRP done and over with so I could go home. I think breaking out of that shell is a very important step, and probably the hardest one in my opinion.

No one approach works for everyone. If we throw multiple life preservers out there, the chances are greater that someone will find one that fits.

Lt Col Charlie Brown - Yes Ma'am, totally agree with you. I'm just acknowledging the fact that I was at fault also many times. There are many programs in place, I just never bother to explore them. Like I said, I just wanted to get out of there and go spend time with my family and friends.
My question is, when is the right time to approach the possible problem? Is it as soon they get off the plane? Or the next day? Maybe the week after? I'm not degrading the program, but sometimes it is up to the individual to seek that help, when he/she is ready. On the other side of the coin, sometimes we are too late to recognize when someone is "screaming" for help. I just hope we all get to the bottom of this.

SSG Jose M. Hernandezsanchez - I agree. There is no "fault" here. We are people, with all our misunderstandings, idiosyncrasies , individual views, etc. We have to find new ways and points at which to engage people. IMO, it has to happen by the 60 day point
