He means gone to the meatpacking plant to be processed. But with pork processing plants shut down due to worker safety concerns, he's faced with a grisly task: He needs to kill the pigs to make room for more.
And Leman isn't the only one. With meatpacking plant closures and reduced processing capacity nationwide, America's hog farmers expect an unprecedented crisis: the need to euthanize millions of pigs.

When the meatpacking industry got bought out by big industry, there are fewer options for farmers and rancher to send their animals. When the few meatpacking plants have an issue (in this case sickness from COVID-19), the problems get magnified. If you want to fix the problem, get rid of the monopoly on meatpacking. Have more choices, and the smart people all through the supply chain from piglet to table, will figure it out.

If people were smart, they would buy their pork straight from the farmers and have them butchered privately.
