Best thing to do in these type of incidents is to eject and possibly add on a one or two game suspension after film has been reviewed. This being about state bragging rights as well recruiting within Mississippi I can see how this gets heated.

LTC (Join to see) - paraphrasing the old saying: "I was at a fight & a football game broke out." Glad no one really got hurt. Don't think there will be any punishment since both sides/players were penalized.

Things got a little cracked at the Egg Bowl this year, LTC (Join to see)! Certainly the players will keep their scholarships. Football is one of the biggest revenue producers for colleges, not to mention their conferences, the television networks and the NFL (collegiate football is the minor league for the NFL). There’s simply too much money involved to stop the train.
No team will ever get the death penalty again. SMU has never recovered and they received the death penalty in 1987. That was 31 years ago! The NCAA rescinded many of the sanctions imposed against Penn State, which was unquestionably the most horrific series of events that have occurred in collegiate football history.
It’s always about the money. Therefore, few changes, if any, will ever occur.

Not too different than politics or as dumb as the Heisman Trophy. It's not about substance, it's about popularity!
