Good morning COL Mikel J. Burroughs Can only add one today from FDR that seems fitting today. I have spent this weekend working events, riding memorial runs, and teaching my grand kids what Memorial Day is all about. My small contribution for the day:
"Those who have long enjoyed such privileges as we enjoy forget in time that men have died to win them."
May you all enjoy your day however you spend it, but remember how we earned this day.

Good Morning COL. Each quote as fine as the next. I shared a post earlier and want to share that here as well so more can see it, you do have a much wider audience!
The usual saying on a Holiday is "Happy Whatever Day"......
Unfortunately, today's Holiday is to Honor the Fallen.....
Nothing Happy about that.....
Today is about those who:
Cannot work today, not those with the day off...
Cannot go to a BBQ or have a beer....
Cannot go out on a boat, or go for a hike....
Cannot hug their Husband their Wife or their Children.....
Today is a day to Honor those who "Cannot" Because they gave Everything they Had Already....
They Have No More...
They Have US....
Enjoy doing whatever it is that makes you feel good today....

I will never forget the reason, and always be more than grateful for how this Country obtained it's freedom and it's rights to talk, walk, think, travel, worship and pray, and live our lives the way we chose. If I could, I would honor each of our fallen, our Veterans, and those who still serve, by bowing in deep respect at their feet. Since that is not an option that is feasible, I instead say, "Thank you God, for gifting me with such precious and beautiful souls!" Semper Fi
