Good morning PO1 William "Chip" Nagel and a great song on a day when we are all watching what happens when, now Hurricane Barry, passes through the New Orleans area... I've been to Bourbon Street a few times and it always amazes me... I hope the levees hold and that the city suffers only minor damage... Love the Sting song "Moon over Bourbon street", which has had over 2,611,117 views on YouTube!

Sgt (Join to see) Been going to NOLA since mid-90s. So much to do/enjoy. Dining = fantastic! Yes, hope only minor damage from Barry.

Lived in the area for 2.5 years, PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. Became a French Quarter expert, because every friend and family member decided it was time to visit. Everyone wanted to go to the French Quarter!
When you live in a tourist town, EVERYONE wants to visit!

LTC Stephen C. One Place I don't need to spend too much time at. When I've had a Few Too Many a Cajun Canadian Lady Friend of Mine used to say I would remember all the wrong words. Yeah I'm a Kraut but Most of My Ancestors came from the German/French Border Country. I'm Foul Mouthed in Several Languages.

Frankly, PO1 William "Chip" Nagel, I never really want to go back except maybe for a brief overnight visit with dinner at Commander’s Palace and breakfast at Brennan’s. This may anger the natives, but the place is like a third world country. Everything is always broken, there’s trash everywhere and broken down cars along all the roads, and all seem to have a mañana attitude. Corruption still reigns in many areas there. Then, there’s the weather. People may not like to hear that and many others may not know, but I lived there and I do know.
There’s not a chance in a million I’d return there to live.

LTC Stephen C. Great 581 pot shot! No money for those niceties @ McCoy. Just a piece of tape with # written on my topper! Classmate and I still address each other by our #s. As for the CO's mess hall the "Wive's Club" often chows @ the Palace when the men are doing well... men's stuff. Countdown to 2020 has begun!

Another street favorite is the OAH one of the many musts in NOLA but no way was I going to drink their elixir. Had an Abita instead. Appropriately located a few blocks from the Voodoo Museum and Museum of Death. Café Du Monde and H2GO = safer hydration! Hoping Barry doesn't trash the city like Katrina. Krewe's did, in fact, marsh/march shortly thereafter and even spoofed FEMA. Dues paid and ready to redeploy in 2020!
