I was curious what the "political" issues were associated with the Boeing KC-46 Pegasus. The only issue I see is one of the Obama administration's making namely Sequestration SP5 Mark Kuzinski. USAF Secretary James seems to want a continuing resolution to be passed by Congress to keep the current Boeing contract afloat instead of renegotiating it.
At Milestone C the requirement to successfully refuel the C-17 Globemaster III seems just of reach. The current system development/production budget seems to be only enough to but 12 KC-46s instead of the 15 negotiated. Of course the threat to the “Required Assets Available” may be a deal breaker.

Hopefully they can resolve them. The Old Tankers are starting to show their age.

But they still accomplish the mission and will for the next 20 years or more. I am biased we have 135s and they out perform expectations. Worked B52s as well...70+ years in the air. Still called on to put bombs on target.
