Readiness is a tricky thing. Of course the four star clowns that gave away the circus had blank checks throughout the oughts just figure: more money and we can fix everything. The realistic answer is no. The minute you ask them exactly where the money is going, they'll play dumb and pull the old 'I don't have the hard numbers right in front of me, give me a couple of weeks and I'll respond to that question' bullshit. The real question the Congress should be asking is: what have you done with all the money we've already given you? Clearly it wasn't for training and equipment, otherwise they wouldn't be playing the poor card. So where did it go? Get that kind of accounting to see where the real (not imagined) problems lie.
