It's nice to see the story and info about this war being put into the public eye. I am always shocked at how little is known about the Vietnam war by our youngsters. I often ask high school students if they know anything about the Vietnam war, and I usually get a shrug or blank look on their face.

I was an instructor at a college and since I was in Vietnam I always asked my students what they knew about the war and very few knew anything about it. Many could not could not even name the contenent in which Vietnam is located.

Seems to go that way with each generation. We as RVN veterans for got those who were in the Korean war. Only reason I appreciated those veterans a 15/16 year old was I had father and older brothers who were there and I heard about it from them.

Capt Michael Beggs - Granted, we did have fewer entertainment options back in the day, and we most likely read a lot more too, but I think much of the ignorance of history is due to our school systems. I think history has been whitewashed, if taught at all? I talked to a teen that lived near me and he told he did not have a History class. I was shocked!
