Yup. She's wicked smart! Does here research and makes good choices. Hardly ever lost a vote as Speaker, either. I call that effective leadership. Meanwhile, House republicans needed how many votes to elect a Speaker... twice this year, and have produced almost nothing for American in the last year!!

If you believe her stock market earnings are because she's "wicked smart," you are lost.
Throughout her career as a legislator, Rep Pelosi and her fellow legislators are privy to information that would be considered insider information if you or I had it. They are allowed to trade on that information. You and I would be having a long talk with the Securities and Exchange Commission if we traded on that same information. On the upside for us... we'd get to live off Uncle Sam for a few years. Oh, wait most don't consider prison an upside.

It isn't just a democrat thing. Both parties are involved. The deeper question is whether they are voting their conscience and profiting from it or voting to best represent their wallet.

Do you have any stats on her win loss record on democrat legislation passing the House while she was speaker, or are you just shooting from the hip?

That Speaker Pelosi had the democrats in lockstep should scare you. It is a clear indicator of the Democrats internal rot. They, democrats, are more loyal to party than to their principles or their constituents.

By way of comparison, financial market professionals that manage portfolios for a living earned, on average, 17% on the portfolios they managed for their clients.

If Rep Pelosi is so "wicked smart," perhaps the best thing she could do for her party is retire and manage the portfolios of the democrat donor class. Compare the % annual return on investment with financial professional. Then have the donor class donate 10% or 20% of that difference. The democrat war chest would be huge and their ability to outspend GOP and independent candidates would be crushing. Then we could get down to the business of being a "one party" democracy like communist China.

Maj John Bell Ms. Pelosi has three things going for her. First, she won political office which is exempt from insider trading. Which as you wrote we do not enjoy that privilege.

Two, she is in a district of rich, apathetic voters.

Three, her husband has done investments in the big tech companies which are protected by his wife and the legislation of Congress.

She isn't 'wicked smart' in investing, she's 'wicked' in the sense she, and Congress, crafted legislation designed to protect her and them.
