While I understand the reasoning behind the name change I find this rather non compos mentis. What about the name Georgia itself - named after King George II. George II was a governor and shareholder of the South Sea Company. According to the Slave Voyages database, which has collated records of the transatlantic trafficking of enslaved people, the company took 41,923 African captives on its ships between 1714 and 1740. More than 7,000 people died on the voyages. Then there's all the Native America named stuff. Seems we could rename most if not everything in the US and just about everything in the world based on crimes against humanity.
