I'm not sure, as it stands right now, that PC America can hinder or stop these kinds of attacks. Look at today's news as an example. Authorities are looking for Ahmad Khan Rahimi, but are saying nothing about political or religious motivation. Why? Well, partly because it would be considered profiling, and we all know we can't have that.

I feel sorry for military intelligence personnel in the sandbox if they have to go by the same criteria as civilians here. As everyone I've ever known who's spent a tour or three in the sandbox (and increasingly in Europe) has told me, almost all instances of terrorism are committed by men, aged 15 to 35, and of middle eastern origins. That makes it common sense to watch people who fit that description - especially 1st and 2nd generation immigrants. (Some would argue that it's also common sense to watch rednecks who own a T-Rex .557 and a few hundred other firearms as well. In some cases it's probably not a bad idea.) Note* If you are offended by my use of the word redneck please keep in mind that I am "of the south" as you save up spit. Born there, and raised on military bases.

I can understand part of not using active duty military in these cases. Once the can of violating the Posse Comitatus Act is opened, it would be impossible to close it again - especially in light of the people we have in elected positions in Washington. (I'm a civilian. Please don't open yourself to violations of the UCMJ by commenting favorably on my estimation of elected officials.) Granted, it would be nice if they'd consult military IED experts (89D or even 55B in a pinch) instead of paying tens of thousands of dollars to people who have probably never seen an IED outside of diagrams in a classroom.

The current administrations in Washington and NY want to keep a lid on things. They don't want reprisals committed against innocent civilians. I get that. From the sounds of things this morning authorities have found more devices. They may have only released the name of one suspect so far, but there has to be more floating around.

Unfortunately, between all the people already in country, and now the additional 800+ questionable people that were just "accidentally" let into the country, I don't have an answer to how to stop it from spreading. All I can suggest Maj Marty Hogan is to remain vigilant and carry if you can. My oath of enlistment never expired and i will protect this country to the best of my abilities.

How do we explain to the rest of the population besides the 1% Military and Veterans about IEDS and suspicious looking things? Because I was in Iraq during the surge in 2007-2008 and at least as a veteran I know what an IED is and what the implications of this being on US soil are, but everyone else not from the military well they have no idea. That is a scary thought. Trash, dead animals, disabled vehicles , man I can see placements everywhere and that scares me how naive the American People are to the threats that can be around them

SPC,

Excellent thought.

I suspect, the threat of Islamic terrorism will increase with the continued influx of immigrants into the United States. Just like France, Germany, Briton, Spain, Italy, Idaho, ect...

You nailed it 99% of america does not under stand this type of threat and A-sometric attacks like those that happen every day in a Combat Zone. The thing like showing a live shot of impact site, and saying it's not a bomb when any vet that has seen that live can tell in 30 seconds what it is or was. I still drive looking at everything, I see like it is something, I need to fear. My shrink says "you need to understand this is the US not over there" well here we are.
