You know that while I am progressive, I am neither a democrat nor a liberal, right? In fact, I oppose the democrat party almost as much as I oppose the republican party. Also, please do not call me a liberal. I am a progressive, a leftist, a socialist, not a wishy washy, capitalism supporting, timid little liberal.

Let me guess your family belong to the communist party. My family lived under another communist ruler and it resulted in the death of several of my parents brothers and sisters only because they did not agree to pledge alliance to the revolution.
My advice young man is to get educated. I have seen the suffering that communism does to its people.
You have an opportunity to serve the best nation on this world as an officer and I wish you a long career and wisdom. Please get yourself informed and if you still think he is a great leader than your entitled to your opinion. To the millions of Cuban that risked their lives for freedom he is a Tyrant and a dictator.

I spent the first two years of my life in China. My parents lived there for 40 years. They came to the US for a higher paying job, but still look fondly upon the free health care, quality education, guaranteed housing, and freedom from crime that the Communist Party used to offer.

So the fact that he arrested and jailed his opposition without due course hold no merit. he was a dictator for 50 years and never gave his people freedom. People died trying to get to America and for millions it was worth the risk. The problem with communism is that if you are part of the system you don't see the suffering you place on those that opposes you.
Free healthcare is great but not when the hospitals don't have the medicine to save your life it is worthless.

Quality of education is a joke and please tell me what a bachelor from Cuba would really get you in the real world.

Castro created a façade for tourists – and misery for Cubans. Why can't Corbyn see that? | Coffee...
To hear Jeremy Corbyn hail Fidel Castro as a great hero of social justice is to be reminded that those…
