I feel the key thing to be taken from this article is the fact that while most of us can say we did our time in Iraq, that fact is really only a small part of who we are. I for one, just like the author, has moved on to other things but there are still things that stick with me. I still wear my bracelet honoring CPT Chris Seifert every day, in fact, I feel off when I don't wear it.

Thanks for sharing. I can't believe it's been that long. I too honestly forgot until seeing this. I graduated OBC a month before 9-11, had just returned to Ft Bliss from my first deployment when our units crossed into IZ...and days later was notifying a young spouse her husband had been shot in Al Nasiriyah. Made several more trips over there. Definitely changes you, but doesn't define you unless you let it.
