Excellent post - truly heartfelt and moving. And so many great roles, too many to list but one that still brings a smile to my face (and which is still spot on vis-a-vis today's political double-speak) was his role as the Texas Gov singing/dancing to "The Sidestep."
Glad to have and continue to learn the backstory of many actors (growing up never knew about their service, just enjoyed their acting). Shifting to the Far East theater (for those that never heard) I was blown away when learning that Jackie Coogan (aka the famous child actor that the Coogan Act was named after and the iconic Uncle Fester on the Addams Family and also briefly married to Betty Grable) had an impressive background.
