I had to stop reading this after awhile. I was looking for something specific to make these collisions a thing of the past. 16 million im bonus and manning for the ships? Why is that needed? 16 million could be better used to TRAIN the Goat Locker in a ‘train the trainer’ senario. Making additional training available for officers? Really? Again it’s centralized on one core group forsaking the others. There really is nothing in this that’ll prevent this. If those ships are based out of Japan, the schools that are on each coast should be wherever a numbered fleet is. There should be division inside who’s sole purpose is to dig deep and hard to find/repair discrepancies, recommend if needed new command group changes, and coordinate random at sea and in port inspections. No more command overrides unless this division signs off on it, and until they’re fixed and evaluated the only two people who can override the lack of repairs is the CNO and the SECNAV. I got $5.00 all of those ships won’t have gear that has been known not to work this time around
