A downselect for low-rate initial production (LRIP) is expected by April or May 2018, and the chosen company will make four more test articles for a live-fire test, and then 204 production vehicles that will be fielded (between LRIP and full-rate production). The winner of the ACV 1.1 programme would then be well placed for the follow-on ACV 1.2 effort, which would add variants and potentially some capability.
