Navy OKs enlistment extensions, veteran re-entry to supplement ranks amid Covid-19

This is where I think the military does a dis-service to itself. We beef our numbers up and then for some reason decide we need to trim the fat and then downsize. Once the crap hits the fan, they spend an enormous amount of money and time bringing people bank in to fill critical slots when they could've not trimmed the fat and been just fine. Revolving door comes to mind.
