I was involved in 2 Hurricane relief efforts. Hurricane Hugo as a Major and Hurricane Katrina as a GS-15. Not fun and it is a heart wrenching thing to go through. You see the best and worst of people. But in the end - when a 85 year old Vet gives you a hug for helping him out - it was all worth it.
