SSG(P) (Join to see) seems like being in some kind of shape (besides blob) would make boot camp easier.

I know when I went to basic most guys still had gym etc in High school and the majority were in good shape. They also would build You up as they went along. If You didn't cut the mustard and runs and PT they took You out of basic and but You in a PT unit where You stayed until You were in shape the returned to basic. They didn't even walk anywhere, it was double time. That was quite and incentive seeing those guys to make sure You exerted all the effort You should on PT. Another thing a guy that was at least cutting the mustard and was overweight the made Him the chow runner, which meat He had to run the mile to the chow Hall instead of march with the rest of us , tell them how may of us were coming them run back and tell the Training Instructor the message had be given. The chow Hall didn't actually need that information, they already knew how many people they were feeding. That and other things at the end of basic the "Fat Boy" was usually no longer fat.
