Horrible, horrible article. He was in a chokehold for a few minutes past passing out, which tells me they wanted him dead.

I would reserve the word tragic for something unavoidable and/or accidental. This was criminal and reprehensible. I didn't know Raiders were mixed up in this, but hope they are drummed out of the Corps and an example is made of them.
