Very interesting to hear some details as to the extent of damage to the Fitzgerald. I can understand the concern for dry dock blocking the hull with that much damage. The bottom line is that she will return to sea. That is good news.

To put that in perspective that is larger then you garage door, they think the keel is broken. And the bulbous bow would have come through your bedroom wall moving at 18 knots + in the middle of the night while you were asleep.

We rebuilt Sammy B and Cole. I am sure they are going to be able to fix Fitz. I was at NASSCO San Diego and they are a really good yard. My only concern is how are they going to straighten the superstructure to align SPY? Plus, no collision alarm at all on FITZ? What was the bridge watch doing?
