SP5 Mark Kuzinski It is a good starting point. If a platform fails in the virtual environment, then tweak it before wasting resources on producing a model. In theory it would save money. If it won't work in a virtual environment, there is no way it will work in a real world environment. On the flip side, don't be too optimistic with results from a virtual environment. Something may work amazingly well in virtual, then fail spectacularly in the real world. There will always be growing pains with new designs. This will hopefully lessen the risk to lives when the new designs move from virtual testing to live testing.
