Great story.
My brother (an Airman) and I only crossed paths three when we were serving. The first was intentional, I was at Ft. Benjamin Harrison for Master Fitness Course training. He was a few hours away at Newark Air Base near Heath, Ohio.
The second was unintentional. We were on an pass from JOTC at Ft. Kobbe, Panama. I was I'm eating pizza with friends when I looked over and saw this beautiful woman. At the table with her was this need. No, it was my brother. He was at Howard AFB on TDY. I walked over and loudly told the beautiful lady "if this guy is bothering you, let me know and I'll take care of him". She politely said "he's not bothering me". My brother hadn't looked up. So I repeated myself and tapped his shoulder. Hilarity ensued as my friends didn't know what was going on. We almost had a throw down in Anthony's pizza.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.
Here's a photo of my son with his boss at Shaw AFB when he was a plans officer at USACENTCOM HQ and got promoted to LTC. His boss, COL Matt Morton, was one of my students at USMA who wrote a dissertation on the period where I left off in "Treat 'Em Rough!: The Birth of American Armor, 1917-20." Jared is now retired and Matt is on the War College faculty at Carlisle . . .

Even better was pinning on Jared's gold bar in the Pershing Room at Cullum Hall--the same place they held my retirement ceremony 10 years earlier . . .

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D. Here's my family on my brother's retirement day. It was the first time since 1985 we were all together in one room.
