We fielded inflatables to trick troop movements and strength.
A lot of weapons have more strength as propaganda tools than as actual weapons.
I see this artillery piece as one of them. Its a mighty fine example of what a big target looks like.

Yes, and I'm assuming it had to be stationary to be fired, so a non moving big target. I'm sure the air forces loved it.

And the US topped out at the 8 inch, 12 inch, and 16 inch naval rifles. The best depictions of US pieces would be in the Panama Canal Defense photography records. Quite impressive of what was done between the American Civil War and WWII.
