PO1 William "Chip" Nagel was your great grandfather and his cousin (August H Wesling) illegal immigrants because they were dodging service in the German military? Your great grandfather immigrated on 18 April 1885 arriving on the S/S Ems from Bremen, Germany; and his cousin in 1887 correct? Oh, and wasn't your great grandfather naturalized sometime before 1900?
