This exact same scenario came to mind for me as well, along with the fact the Democrat party has it's own highly checkered past with civil rights. Where's the demand to change their name to go along with their "evolved" platform? Instead many continue to rehash the negative aspects throughout our history, rather than learn from them, they refuse to appreciate the journey our country had to take to get where we are, and they leave little room to focus on what still needs to be done. What's worse is we are even tearing down the work and compromises that had to be made to get to where we are.
Meanwhile our enemies enable the negativity while pulling out the popcorn to watch us become more divisive.
