It'll be banned by the FDA or Big Pharma will buy the patent and store it away forever. There is no money in a cure; just the drugs.

About a decade ago someone came up with a diesel alternative that beat the pants off of diesel. Big Oil bought the patent and I've not heard anything about it since. So you might think you're joking, but you're not.
