I personally disagree with the up or out. I seen guys who were Great Mechanics and wanted to stay e-4 e-5. Then I saw NCO's e-6 e-7 we're great at going to boards and schools but could not be a platoon sgt./motor Sgt. Oh by the way I was a motor sgt in the Artillery and Engineers as well as Bde. Staff. I also wss a Retiree Recall so i must have done something right my 27 years.
