This was actually a trend before the pandemic. I knew several kids being homeschooled in our area. I could never do this- I would have gone to jail trying to teach my kids anything.

Lots were doing it well before the pandemic. I have mixed emotions. The aquarium where I used to work was an educational institution that held classes for both public and home school groups. On the whole home school groups were the most difficult to deal with mainly because they seemed to lack the general socialization that public school groups had. When the teacher asked a group to do something the public school groups responded immediately while homeschool groups quite often ignored the request. Also they only seemed comfortable with their immediate family and not the other students that some home school coordinator had put together to get the minimum number of students required to hold the class. Not saying it doesn't work, just that a lot is lost when kids don't have the opportunity to routinely interact with other kids like normal public and private schools provide.
