More evidence of the nanny state run amok.
Why, when I was a kid, My grandpappy used to give me a tipple any time I started crying - once he was done whuppin' me with the switch he made me go cut, of course. Put me right to sleep, easy peasy. And I turned out just fine.
Frankly, I think more caregivers should start whuppin the the kids and then gettin' 'em drunk.
All sarcasm aside, if you are drugging your kid to get them compliant, the problem is *you,* not the kid. (Obvious exceptions for bona fide medical prescriptions under the advice and treatment of a medical professional who is NOT related.)
