MY COMMENT:
Mohamedou Ould Slahi is a trained al Qaeda operative who recruited three of the 9/11 hijackers who committed terror atrocities against the US. He swore bayat to Usamma bin Laden, has connections to the highest levels of al Qaeda, participated in highjacking and bombing planning, was an al Qaeda cell leader in Germany and Canada, and was involved in the failed Millennial bombing plan of the LA Airport. He is innocent of nothing. He his practicing the Muslim art of deception towards non-Muslims called taqqiya. His treatment at the US military detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was exemplary. He was given FREE Qurans, prayer rugs/beads, halal and special Muslim holy holiday meals, services of US military Muslim chaplains, directions to Mecca, white robes, world class medical, vision and dental care, recreation, library, entertainment, TV, DVDs, sports and more. He or any of the 731 RELEASED detainees were not beheaded, executed, blown up, hacked to death, dragged naked and lifeless through the streets, drowned or burned alive, all things our enemies have done to us and/or our allies. Slahi and I have exchanged books and had conversations via direct message on Twitter, and he refused to answer my questions based on official reports (published in the New York Times
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/projects/guantanamo/detainees/760-mohamedou-ould-slahi) about his background prior to his capture. The fact that Hollywood has decided to make a movie of his lies and exaggerations confirms they have lost their way. Such a movie is an insult to those who lost their lives and their loved ones on 9/11 and during the Global War on Terror, and to those US military personnel who treated him with dignity and respect under the laws and guidelines of the Geneva Conventions and Law of War. Sincerely, Montgomery J. Granger, Major, US Army, Retired. Former ranking US Army Medical Department officer with the Joint Detainee Operations Group, Joint Task Force 160, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
