Thank goodness, we need more. If our LCS are going into cold waters.

The U.S. Navy's brand-new battleship is stuck in the Canadian ice
The U.S.S. Little Rock has been caught out by the freezing weather that has battered the U.S.

MCPO Roger Collins and might those Ice breakers in the cold waters you talk about Roger, need a sub or two to protect them...right?

Never can have too many submarines. We were circumnavigating the North Pole decades ago, as far as I know never got one trapped by ice. Not sure about our torpedo effectiveness would be or ASROC fired from under the ice. (Do they still have those?)

MCPO Roger Collins - Your asking me??? I retired 28 years ago. And the only ASROC we had was surface launched from USS Bainbridge we also had the MK-46 torpedo surface launched, do they still have those?

Rhetorical question. Might have used the MK 14 torpedo to illustrate my being out of touch. :)

LCDR (Join to see) Yep, I agree, we will need them, with the weapons systems too, but I think we will need them much sooner than later! Can we put troops in the "Space"?

CWO3 Dennis M. My brother was on the Polar star back in the early 80s and he agrees. Sound like the plan is going to be to buy more paid for by DHS once DoD funds all the upfront design cost.
