This would be an interesting addition! I like the idea of a throwback uniform and it looks very classy.

The Blue class A the army moved to is a throwback uniform if that’s what you want it is from about or before civil war uniform.

I concur with your assessment SSG(P) (Join to see) but according to the article "
The “pinks and greens” are meant to be an official occasion uniform that would be issued at basic training, [Sergeant Major of the Army Dan] Dailey has said, bumping the blue ASU up to formal wear.
“We don’t have real manufacturers making these things — they’re just one-off prototypes being made by our people,” he said. “A lot of the fabric we had in stock, believe it or not, from a study that was done on this uniform when we got rid of the greens.”
It seems that the Army and especially the soldiers are tired of one formal/dress uniform. For the decades I was in uniform we had the Army Green uniform [AG 44 and AG 344] and a dress blue uniform with optional more formal mess blues.
I certainly would prefer wearing the Pinks and Blues over the ASU. As a retiree who has lost all his uniforms, I would be interested in purchasing a set of pinks and greens of authorized for wear at official function such as weddings, funerals, etc.

Personally, I'm annoyed by this. If you think about it, SMA Daily was one of the major pushers for this change, yet his tenure as SMA is done this year and he will probably retire. On top of the fact that he probably won't have to pay for his. Then you add in the fact, that I have mentioned MANY a time, is that USAR and USANG do not get clothing allowance. We have a system in place where our units and/or BNs are supposed to have funds in place to offset the issue of Soldiers needing to pay out of pocket. But that system is broken. Either units mad rush their orders in and backlog the entire system and causing Soldiers to not receive their uniforms for months or even years. I have known Soldiers that ETSd and then 4-8 months later their orders come in....or we get the orders in and then are told that there are no funds. And you would think that all orders would stay in place until funds are available again but no. Those orders have to be deleted and the process starts all over again when funds are made available.
