I recently drove a Ford Fusion Hybrid. It had a decent powered V6 that only ran part of the time and I got 44 miles per gallon driving 75 miles per hour on the California freeways. The car had decent power and the engine would turn off if you were at a stoplight for more than 3 or 4 seconds. It was weird though to be able to push the button and it said that it was on and you're the put the selector in drive and the vehicle with creep and roll and then the engine may turn on. It was kind of weird. Was not a slow car. 44 miles per gallon is pretty damn good considering I was driving like a madman because in California when you signal you better punch it because there are lots of idiots with road rage. I am sure had I driven the car easier I probably could have got 45 miles per gallon driving at maybe 65 or 60 miles per hour.

I wonder if I could rig one so I could get the roar of the exhaust at least inside. I think I'd miss that.

Yeah those new electric rigs don't seem to have the roar of the current big rigs.
