Despite the week of spreading mass protests, the people around Alexander Lukashenka have largely remained loyal to the self-styled "batka" - or father - of the Belarusian nation. But one senior diplomat - the country's Ambassador to Slovakia, Igor Leshchenya - has broken ranks. In a video statement posted on Saturday, he expressed his solidarity with the protesters. Ambassador Leshchenya explains why he'd gone public in this way.
