Maybe some day things will improve but the VA Medical System has been plagued with Problems since the Vietnam Vets started coming home.

Eight years later, billions of dollars increases in budget, replacement of the Director of the VA, and many of you still believe in the Democrat regime. Talk about a willingness to suspend disbelief.

I looked through the list and had to chuckle at Number 1 Cockroaches in the kitchen SP5 Mark Kuzinski. We have cockroaches in our kitchen. They are one of the hardiest insects groups in the world.
I have never had a serious problem with the treatment side of the VA medical system and consistently receive great care at Martinsburg, WV VAMC and the Fort Detrick, MD clinic.
My issues have always been with the evaluation side of the VA - the VBA. It took Congressional action to move them initially in my case.

Sir, I am very glad that you have never had a problem with the health care side of the VA. Certainly, it is better not to. However, recall not so many years ago about the colonoscopy devices that were not properly sterilised exposing hundreds (I believe) to Hep C. And then there are other medical abuses... One case I know where a veteran went in for a barium enema only to have the two female nurses try to shove the tube in his rectum without lubricant, the laughed at the veteran's discomfort when he walked away from the procedure. I recount this because it's a situation of someone I know personally. So, unfortunately, there are problems with the medical side as well.

CPL Robert Ray - thanks for a very respectful post. I know there are problems at too many VAMCs. I was trying to point out that the VAMC and supporting clinic I am seen for cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics, etc. has consistently provided great service, care and treatment for me. I hope that the care and treatment throughout the rest of the VAMC network improves dramatically to support each and every disabled vet.
