Thanks for reminding us about the day of publicized announcements of troop withdrawals from South Vietnam SP5 Mark Kuzinski. Vietnamization was rushed along a timetable instead of waiting until critical capabilities had been reached.
The North Vietnamese strategically planned their attacks to take advantage of our withdrawals even while they lobbied for "peace" on their terms in Paris and encouraged protestors in the USA.

And I was still in BCT at Fort Jackson, SP5 Mark Kuzinski, a week away from heading home for Christmas leave.

Christmas break at WMU - Home for first Christmas in 3 years. My discharge date from the Army was "Dec. 26, 1968" I received an early out to go back to college! The 26th of Dec.!I think I was the only one that got out of Ft. Hood on that day.
