When I was in Marine infantry in Vietnam, we used to give each other high sidewall haircuts with hand-operated clippers. Of course, we shaved ourselves as often as we could. And we were fighting a war then, but standards were not relaxed. So I see no reason why the Corps should suspend personal grooming standards just because of COVID-19. Of course, before the Spanish-American War, grooming regulations did not exist in the Corps - civilian trends prevailed - and it was totally at the discretion of commanding officers what their Marines' hair and face looked like. Longer hair, lambchop sideburns, handle-bar moustaches, beards - they've all been done before if that's the way the Corps wants to do it. It would be interesting to see.
