I would have to say YES without a doubt. My chaplain, Jonathan Gibbs (3rd BN 504th PIR, 82d Airborne) was a resource for one reason. He loved the men and their families. I saw Chaplain Gibbs go above and beyond on many occasions, to make sure a junior enlisted was cared for. At the same time, he called it like he saw it...stupid was stupid, and lazy did not ever get a pass from him.

My personal opinion is that Faith plays a big role in your attitude and salvation while in combat. Chaplains provide the comfort and understanding needed to continue the fight. They are your spiritual support!

During a time when you lose a family member in Combat you need that support to know that you're not alone . The military never leaves behind anyone
