In South Vietnam, North Vietnamese troops increase operations along the DMZ. This activity had begun on August 12 and continued until the 15th. The North Vietnamese captured the South Vietnamese marine base at Ba Ho, two miles south of the DMZ; most of the defenders were killed or wounded, but the Communists suffered 200 dead in taking the base.

Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski North Vietnamese troops captured the South Vietnamese marine base at Ba Ho, two miles south of the DMZ after suffering heavy casualties as 200 communist soldiers were killed in the operation in 1971.

And they kept on going SP5 Mark Kuzinski. This pic I took in Hue of the Imperial Palace. A year or so later after I had returned from Nam in 1972 the identical picture was in the paper. I thought it was mine until I saw the North Vietnamese flag flying over it. I thought what did we fight for! Now we get some of our clothes from there.
