A day in the life of a crippled veteran at school, trying to address the extremely poor disabled accessibility, the school knows of these problems, and refuses to address them. So, I waited, I documented, I took measurements, and then I shot a series of videos. Northeastern University should be ashamed of the way they treat disabled veterans. I have quite a lot more of similar videos of the NEU campus, the Boston University Campus, Harvard, Bunker Hill COmmuity College, and several other schools in the Boston area that have facilities that are not handicap friendly, and which only give ADA compliance mere lip service.

WTH?!? Not just disabled veterans, but disabled people PERIOD.... did common courtesy fly out the damn window? Sometimes, with some people, a throat punch is not a mere suggestion, its a requirement. JS

I agree completely that the are shutting out any disabled person who has to use a wheelchair. While the school does have a small number of parking spots for disabled students and staff they are often in pot hole riddled parking lots, or in parking lots so distant from the classroom that it is treacherous to move from the handicap spot to the classroom. The school also looks the other way in regards to door actuators for bathrooms, hallway doors, and so on. Yeah, the crippled veteran can complain, but the school will ignore the complaints, and then ignore then again, and again, and again.

The school does not actually care, and it shows. There are several other colleges in the Boston area who are just as bad or worse. For example, Boston University is utter horrible for disabled people.

The are a legitimate school, but they need an education on how they are required to comply with ADA standards across all buildings.

The federal government has the power to instantly shut down all federal funding to any college that is not FULLY ADA compliant. In order to obtain any federal funding, the schools have to affirm that they are in full compliance with ADA standards, and if it can be demonstrated that they are not in compliance, the federal funds can evaporate retroactively.
