We place far to much emphasis on national elections, especially the presidency. We haven't kept our eye on the real elections, local elections, especially school boards. And, we've allowed the federal government to intrude into education. I welcome all who may attempt to justify the existence of the US Department of Education, especially in light of the demonstrable fact that US educational performance has declined ever since it was established.
