I don't think that we would have any problem proving a case for striking NK in self defense. Their fearless leader has threatened us and now clearly demonstrated the ability to make good on that threat. However, we "can't" because NK hides behind its Big Brother, China, and BB has set the rules. We can't strike, we can only strike back. So, I guess we'll just have to deal with our fears and wait for the nuke to fall, lick our wounds, and strike back, unless we're willing to test China's resolve. Therein lies the real question. Would China make good on its threat and wage war on its greatest trading partner?

We can not strike without causing the deaths of hundreds of thousands off allies, at the least, so it is not only China.

The fat guy clearly has mommy/daddy issues and he wants to vent on the US. Well, be careful what you ask for, I am sure Korea could use another parking lot and a Walmart..

The first parking lot constructed would be in the ROK and thousands of Americas would be under the pavement win the first few hours. The deaths in South Korea would make any need for a parking lot moot,

A single, verifiable atmospheric test and I might believe. The Russians seem to be afraid of the Koreans clumsy attempts. One way or the other we need to spank this sucker. Destroy his Nuke facilities, launchers and their air force. Then a no fly zone.
